Blue Canyon Farm was born as an announcement in our family room one day. No one was more surprised than this city girl, when my firefighter husband, casually mentioned that he wanted to plant a lavender farm on our bit of acreage in Heber, Utah. We all thought he was joking and I’m so glad he wasn’t! We attended a Lavender Grower’s conference shortly after, purchased our first 3000 plants, cleared alfalfa and weeds from what had previously been
decades of hay fields, and before we knew it – we were lavender farmers!
It’s been the best family adventure we’ve ever had as every one of our children and grandchildren has dived in summer after summer and weeded, planted, harvested, created and shipped for the family business. Mike and I have cherished the hours we have spent in the fields together – it is hard work, but completely satisfying.
Flashback to a delightful summer afternoon, when as a 15-year-old, I spent a summer afternoon under the tutelage of my talented grandmother, learning how to make a fresh lavender wreath. It was magical and enchanting as we worked around the bees to gather
enough lavender in her gathering basket for the project. I fell in love with everything about lavender that day. I consider Mike’s gift – Blue Canyon Farm – to be the ultimate gift!
At Blue Canyon Farm, we strive to bring you the same feeling of enchantment and goodness that we feel here at the farm. We know you’ll fall in love with everything about lavender, again and again!
