I was born and raised in Utah except for two years living in Evergreen Colorado, I have been here all my live. I retired after working 42 years in a federal job, ready to use my creative mind doing something fun. My Grandmother and Mom taught me to hand sew and quilt when I was very young, and I have continued using these skills throughout my life even when I could not sit down and focus just on them, I dreamed of the day I would easily spend all my hours stitching.
After retiring we moved from Park City to the big city of Oakley, Utah. And not just Oakley but Weber Canyon, two miles up a dirt road that we snowmobile to the house in the winter. I am not complaining because this gives me more reason to stay home and sew. My inspiration is the abundant wildlife, majestic mountains and ever-changing colors and views from our amazing little 1925, 1500 square foot cabin on the hill.
I often get bored with one item and move to another, making wool animals, fabric painting, fiber arts, crochet, sun dying fabric, but my constant and something I will always love is the art of making quilts. My Grandmother taught me to quilt by hand and I will pull out her quilt frame from time to time and hand quilt one in her honor. Since retiring from full time employment I have made over 350 quilts for family and others across the country. Working with an artist to design and make a quilt is an experience you will never forget; it is an investment in your future and your family’s heritage. Quilts last forever and can be handed down through many generations. Those of us who make quilts for others understand the investment you are making and take pride in our work and appreciate you entrusting your memories and history to us.
I am honored that you would considering purchasing a piece of art from my collection, and hope you enjoy your purchase. The items that I make are not from a factor, nor are they perfect. They are one of a kind and none of them are the same. I spend time making them unique for you and want you to be satisfied with your purchase, if you are not, please let me know and I will make it right.
And If I can help you further by making a quilt in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me, I am always willing to go down that road with you, it is a fun rewarding experience for both of us.
