Naturally Forested features handmade, one of a kind jewelry created from real leaves and flower petals. Collecting leaves and flowers which are native to Utah and locally grown, then turning them into wearable art brings a true connection back to nature and our beautiful state of Utah. As a lover of the outdoors I have always been moved by the beauty of nature. The incredible landscape of the Northern Mountains of Utah called to me from a young age and after graduating from Syracuse University, in 1995, I moved to Park City, Utah where I had family. Shortly afterwards I met my husband and we currently live in Wanship Utah, a forested mountain community at 8,000 feet just outside of Park City, with our two children. The idea of making jewelry from real leaves and flowers was a natural fit for me when I was given the opportunity, in 2013, to learn the lengthy process of preservation from a fellow artist in the Kamas Valley named Ed. Ed became a dear friend and is still creating art at 84 years old and, in honor of him, I named my company Naturally Forest’Ed.’ My work is a delightful art which requires attention to detail, patience and a steady hand. The medium of using real leaves and flowers combined with a dual polymer can be challenging since the raw materials are fragile and prone to breaking or tearing. Over time I have learned to make modifications and embrace the art as my own. It is a labor of love throughout the entire process, with each piece of jewelry being carefully selected, handmade and crafted as one of a kind items; no two are ever exactly the same.
